It is recommended that you take your pet to the veterinarian for an exam before your trip and get a copy of his medical and current immunization records. If you enter another state, the law requires you to carry these papers with you. You will want them if your pet requires veterinary care during your trip.
It is recommended that you get your pet groomed before your trip. Make sure your pet gets a flea and tick treatment before you leave home. Fleas and ticks are prevalent in Florida. It is also recommended that your pet gets a nail trim.
Pets are allowed on the beach, but must be leashed at all times per Florida Law. You must pick up after your pet. Florida Law also requires that all pet droppings are picked up. Potty bags are provided and PLEASE make sure you take the potty bags to the beach with you.
Please wipe your pet’s feet at all times before entering the house. Make sure that their paws are free of sand. Also if your pet likes to swim, make sure your pet is DRY before entering the house. If your pet is a lap pet and likes to be with you on the couch and bed, make sure you put a towel down for your pet to lie on. Do not let your pet sit on the furniture or beds WET.
Pet bowls, toys, and beds are also provided for your pet. We would like to make your pet’s visit at Water’s Edge as enjoyable as yours! There are also pet crates available for your pets. These crates are kept in the garage, but you are welcome to bring them into the house. If in doubt that your pet may destroy anything in the home when you are present in the house, or gone for the day, make sure you put your pet in a the crate. Remember any damage that your pet might do, you are responsible to pay for!
